Full Tune-Up

Tune-up your own bicycle!
This month-long course includes four evenings of 3-hour-long, hands-on classes.
What makes our classes exceptional is our commitment to individualized learning. We limit the class size to only two people , so you receive the highest quality, personalized learning experience possible.

Classes cover:
Basic bike maintenance (including flat changes and on-the-road fixes)
Brake adjustments, pad replacement and changing cables and housing
Derailleur adjustments, shifting, and cable replacement
Hubs and bearing overhauls, drivetrains and chains
Bottom bracket and headset adjustments
Wheel truing and review

When: Each 3 hour session takes place from 6pm – 9pm once a week or on consecutive weeknights, as noted. Weekend intensive classes run from 9am-4pm.

Where: Classes are held at the Gracie’s Wrench Workshop in NE Portland.

Cost: $325 per student. Parts not included but students get 15% off all purchases.

Weekend Intensives

Weekend Tune-Up Intensives compress the four-week Full Tune-up Class into two, seven-hour weekend days. This is a great fit for those hectic schedules with travel or other commitments that make it hard to come to four consecutive weeks of classes. All the same topics will be covered as in the Full Tune-up Class over the course of two, 6- 7 hour days on consecutive weekends. With our same small, two person class size, it’s the perfect fit for active people. Cost and location are same as above. Weekend Intensives are not offered in the summer unless specifically requested (see “Custom Classes” below).

Custom Classes

If none of the class options offered below fit with your schedule, contact me directly to see what we can work out. It’s sometimes possible to arrange classes during weekdays (or on weekends in the summer), and we make our best effort with you to find another student to take the class with you. If no other student can be found, the cost of a custom class is an extra $75.
